Berlin, 27th November 2005 - The skaters of the adult-team “N’Ice Time“ are starting with precise goals into this new season. All of their 18 ice-skaters are working very hard on their free-skating programme for this year’s Christmas show. They have chosen a medley of four famous ABBA songs in order to please the audience and the jury.
“N’Ice Time“ is also going to participate in the German Masters (DEU-Pokal) for leisure-skaters in Grimma (Saxony). There, they will have to defend their second position from the previous year. Among the participants are also two new teams, namely one team from Mannheim and one from Nuremberg. Leisure-skating is very popular among former professional skaters, but unfortunately, this league is still lacking an age limit and a concise system of rules. On an international basis, the new scoring system for ice-skating, named NJS, will be applied in this year’s competitions. This means that the standard will rise. Figure elements such as “Moves in Isolation” will be part of the stricter requirements.
For the first time, “N’Ice Time“ is going to travel to France to take part in the “Hauts de France Trophy” in Compiégne. Last year, the team won the silver medal at the “Crystal Trophy 2005” in Göteborg, Sweden.
The league of leisure-skaters is unfortunately still waiting for international championships, as we know them from the professional skaters in synchronised ice skating. But hopefully this is going to happen very soon, because there are a lot of former professional skaters forming new teams.
